Project Partners

It takes a village to bring Museum on Main Street exhibitions to life! While the staff at the Museum Main Street program works hard to bring exhibitions to your town, we don't do it alone. A special thank you to participating state humanities coucils, individual organizations, as well as schools for their work with developing and complementing our exhibitions.

State Humanities Councils

A dynamic partnership with state humanities councils makes the MoMS program possible. By competitive application, each council selects six communities across the state to present a Smithsonian exhibition over the course of a year. The councils assist with logistics, planning, and financial support. Working alongside councils, Smithsonian experts conduct installation workshops, train volunteers, and hold public relations and fundraising seminars. Equipped with this professional training and technical support, host museums are inspired to create unique and vibrant companion exhibits to tell local stories. Community Organizations and Volunteers

We will gratefully acknowledge the contributions of participating organizations like museums, libraries, art centers, and community centers across the nation. Through the help and dedication of docents and volunteers, Museum on Main Street exhibitions come to life. These partners create incredible programs that complement the traveling exhibitions and make the content relevant for local audiences. Thank you volunteers! Our program couldn't happen without you!
